We recommend, the absolute best way to clean these things is by power washer! no kidding! step by step.
1. if you don't have a power washer, all car washes do.
2. power wash your sandals on the pavement, you will see the dirt come out of them.
3. tie them to roof of car.
4. drive them home, they will be air dried and clean when you get back.
5. run free again!
*if you don't have a power washer, or want to use one. sandals can be put in the washing machine, with regular detergent, or bleach, or tea tree oil.
* they can be machined dried, but we reccomend no using a dryer as it is a waste. dry them outside on a sunny day, on both sides (dry the bottom for a little while, then the top).
**the secret to keeping these sandals clean and pleasant is to make sure they are not put away wet! like after getting out of the river, don't throw them in your trunk and forget about them for a week. think wet rope!
* bleach can be used, it is harmless to the sandals.

I had these sandles years ago. They lasted me at least 10 years. I loved them and didn't know where to get another pair, till I saw an ad in a magazine. Just ordered a pair and will probably order a black pair in a few weeks:-). |

How about the JC with sole? Any difference cleaning those? -Chip Hi Chip! thanks for writing. the jc with sole needs to be cleaned far less then the regular jc as the sole keeps it from absorbing stuff. i actually have not tested the power washer on the jc with sole, i cant imagine it would hurt them. usually the jc with sole i just leave out in the sun after a wetting! i have put them in the washer machine just to test it out, they make a lot of clunk clunk noise when washing, it sounded like it might break my washer, but didn't; then i laid them out in the sun to dry. soon i will power wash them. hope that helps |
